Default Heading H1

Police in Folkestone have recovered a haul of 12 suspected stolen bicycles and two e-scooters following a drone-led operation over a residential property.

Officers from Folkestone’s Community Safety Unit received a tip-off regarding a property on Cheriton Road, believed to be storing stolen bikes. A police drone was deployed, revealing a number of bicycles visible in the back garden.

Police attended the address and seized the items. A 71-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft and handling stolen goods. He has since been released on bail, pending further enquiries.

Appeal for Bike Owners

Kent Police are now working to reunite the bikes and e-scooters with their rightful owners.

“If you believe one of the bikes may be yours, please come forward with proof of purchase, serial numbers, or any distinctive identifying features,” a police spokesperson said.

Anyone with information or who believes they may be the owner of one of the seized items is urged to contact the East Kent appeals line on 01843 222289, quoting reference 46/122903/25.
