Overview

A murder investigation is underway following the death of a woman in her 60s, who was found with multiple stab wounds at a residential address in Bushy Close, Romford.

Police were called at approximately 9:00pm on Sunday, 27 July, after a report was made by British Transport Police (BTP) expressing concern for the woman’s welfare.

Upon arrival, officers from the Metropolitan Police found the woman unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Linked Death at Romford Station

Investigators believe the woman’s death may be linked to the death of a 20-year-old man who died on the train tracks at Romford railway station earlier the same day.

British Transport Police are treating the man’s death as non-suspicious, but early enquiries suggest the man and woman were known to each other.
