Woman Found Fatally Stabbed in Romford Home
Gruesome Murder Shakes Romford Community
A woman in her 60s was found dead with multiple stab wounds at her home on Bushy Close, Romford. Police were called at around 9pm on Sunday, 27 July, after British Transport Police raised concerns about her welfare. Officers from the Metropolitan Police arrived to find her unresponsive and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Possible Link to Young Man’s Death on Train Tracks
Detectives suspect the woman’s murder may be connected to the death of a 20-year-old man on the train tracks at Romford railway station earlier the same day. Although British Transport Police are treating the man’s death as non-suspicious, early investigations suggest the two knew each other.
No Arrests Yet as Police Hunt Killer
No suspects have been arrested so far. The Met’s Specialist Crime Command is combing through forensic evidence and carrying out door-to-door inquiries around Bushy Close. A crime scene remains sealed off as the probe intensifies.
Police Speak Out Amidst Community Shock

“Our thoughts remain with the victim’s family at this difficult time as we investigate the circumstances behind this terrible incident. At this stage, we believe this to be an isolated incident with no wider risk to the public.”
Detective Superintendent Simon Giles added:
“I understand that the incident is distressing for the community and we are working closely with our colleagues in the Specialist Crime Command to progress the investigation as quickly as possible. Those in the area today can expect to see our officers and we encourage anyone with any information to speak with them.”
