First Image Released of Saudi Student Brutally Stabbed to Death in Cambridge
Tragic Attack on Young Saudi Student
The first picture of Mohammed Al-Qasim, the 20-year-old Saudi student fatally stabbed in Cambridge, has been released. Mohammed had come to the UK for a 10-week English course at the EF International Language Campus.
He was found with fatal injuries in Mill Park, Cambridge on the night of Friday, 2 August. Emergency services arrived at 11:27pm but Mohammed was pronounced dead shortly after midnight.
Family’s Heartbreaking Tribute
Mohammed’s family expressed devastation over the senseless attack. Their loss has shaken both the local community and fellow students deeply.
Suspects in Custody as Police Probe Continues
- A 19-year-old Cambridge man appeared at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court on 4 August, charged with murder and possession of a knife in public.
- A 50-year-old man from Cambridge was arrested for suspicion of assisting an offender and remains in custody.
Police believe the stabbing was unprovoked. A post-mortem examination is scheduled for Tuesday, 5 August.

“This was a horrific and senseless act of violence that has devastated a family and a community. Our investigation is ongoing, and we urge anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant footage to contact us immediately.”
