Man in 20s Rushed to Hospital After Thamesmead Stabbing

A man in his 20s has been rushed to hospital with potentially life-changing injuries after a stabbing in Thamesmead.

Police were called at 12:14pm on Tuesday, 5 August following reports of an assault on Whernside Close, SE28. Officers arrived swiftly alongside paramedics from the London Ambulance Service.

Serious Injuries, Ongoing Investigation

The victim was found with a serious stab wound to his arm and was immediately taken for emergency treatment. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson confirmed the injuries are being treated as “potentially life-changing.”

A crime scene remains in place on Whernside Close while officers continue their enquiries. So far, no arrests have been made.

Police Urge Witnesses to Speak Out

“Anyone with information is asked to call 101 or message @MetCC on X, quoting CAD 3172/5AUG,” the spokesperson said.

“You can also provide information anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111.”

The Met Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward and help bring the attacker to justice.
