Body Found After Three Years in Horrific Hoarding Flat
In a chilling discovery, police found the skeletal remains of Ms Sites nearly three years after she was last seen alive. Her body was uncovered in May 2025 inside the hoarding-infested flat of her ex-partner, Stevens.
Last Seen in May 2022, Reported Missing in 2023
Ms Sites was last spotted on 21 May 2022 but wasn’t reported missing until April 2023. Stevens, who was questioned multiple times, lied to officers saying he hadn’t seen her since early 2022. Despite repeated visits, police were misled as Stevens claimed he had already moved out of the flat.
Gruesome Scene Uncovered in Upton Road Flat
- Officers finally forced entry on 27 May 2025.
- They found Ms Sites’s skeletal arm and hand under a blanket on the living room sofa.
- The flat was in a severe state of hoarding—piled with rubbish, faeces, and bottled urine.
- Fragranced products were discovered, believed to be used to mask the stench of decomposition.
Stevens’s Shocking Admission
Stevens claimed Ms Sites came to stay in January 2023 and that he found her dead on the sofa the next day. He admitted covering her body with a blanket but never called emergency services. He later admitted his story “didn’t sound right.”
Prosecutor Hollie Gilbery said Stevens deliberately misled police, causing delays in finding Ms Sites’s remains.
Judge Condemns ‘Absolutely Tragic’ Case
“This is an absolutely tragic case. You completely wrongly panicked and simply covered her body, leaving her there for years. Anouska was denied the dignity of a lawful burial,” said Judge Anna Richardson during sentencing.
Friends and family can now finally lay Ms Sites to rest after years of heartache.
