Two Teens Arrested After Wheelie Bin Arson Spree Rocks Folkestone
Bin Blaze Chaos in Kent Town
Police have nabbed two 15-year-old boys following a string of deliberate fires that torched seven wheelie bins across Folkestone. Between Wednesday 6 August and Tuesday 19 August, Kent Police and Fire crews rushed to multiple fires at Alder Road, Kingsnorth Gardens, Beech Close, and Shorncliffe Road.
The blazes were put out without injuries, but cops slapped the incidents with a full arson probe, treating them as suspicious acts.
Quick Arrests after Latest Fire
Just hours after the most recent blaze, two local teens were arrested on Wednesday 20 August on suspicion of arson. Both boys, aged 15 and from Folkestone, were released on conditional bail as investigations ramp up.
Police Hit Back: No Tolerance for Reckless Fires
PC Cara Coleman-Mahon said: “Setting fire to bins might seem minor to some, but it’s a reckless act that can quickly escalate and put lives and property at real risk. These arrests show that we take incidents like this seriously, and anyone who endangers our communities through reckless actions will be held accountable.”
