Hay Bale Blaze Hits Isle of Wight Field

Firefighters rushed to a hay bale fire on the Isle of Wight this afternoon. The blaze began in a field before spreading to a nearby pile of hay bales.

Rapid Response From Fire Crews

Two fire engines from Newport were first on the scene just before 2pm. They were backed up by a water carrier from Freshwater and a land rover from Ryde.

Swift Action Limits Damage

Thanks to the quick work of crews, many resources have already been stood down. The fire damaged an area roughly 40 metres by 15 metres.

Authorities continue to monitor the scene to prevent any flare-ups.
