Drama hit the Great British Bake Off tent on Tuesday night as nine bakers battled it out in a school-themed bake-off. From classic flapjacks to tricky technicals, the heat was on. For the finale, contestants whipped up nostalgic school fete showstoppers. After tough judging from Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith, student Jasmine was crowned star baker. But the biggest shock came with drag king baker Jessika’s exit from the competition.
Jessika Crash and Burn: Risky Bake Sees Her Sent Home
Jessika, 32, from London, was the fourth contestant to leave the Channel 4 bake-off. Known for her bold style and daring creativity, the school-themed week proved too much. Prue Leith didn’t hold back:
“Jessika is a risk-taker, and this week she took that risk too far.”
The service designer admitted her bake disaster: “Everything went wrong – my oven, my microwave, my cake, my biscuits, my meringue.” No wonder she was sent packing.
Jessika Opens Up: From Heartfelt Moments to Bake Off Banter
Despite the bitter exit, Jessika reflected on her time with pride. Her favourite memory? Week one’s showstopper featuring apples from a cherished tree owned by Betty, a very special person to her. “Using those apples felt like bringing Betty along for the ride,” she said. She called her week two biscuit selfie her best bake, and the latest fiasco her worst.
Jessika also revealed a cheeky side, sharing laughs with hosts Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond:
- “I’d love to wear Noel’s clothes!”
- “Maybe we could become a delightful coordinated drag duo?”
- On Alison: “I got her a giant hard-boiled diamond ring and asked her in Spanish if she’d marry me… She was playing hard to get but maybe we’re engaged now!”
What’s Next for Jessika? Extra Slice Appearance Awaits
Jessika’s Bake Off journey may be over, but she’s not gone yet. She’s set to appear on The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice with Jo Brand and Tom Allen on Friday, September 26 at 8pm on Channel 4.
Fans will be on the edge of their seats as the competition heats up, wondering who’ll rise and who’ll crumble next.
