Dodgy Drivers and Battered Vans Caught Red-Handed

  • A white Ford flatbed Transit was seized on Warden Road after being found unroadworthy. It had a cracked chassis, broken lights, and an overweight, unsecured load. The driver was slapped with a fine and a prohibition notice.
  • On Cromwell Road, another Ford Transit Tipper was fined and immobilised for carrying excess weight and sporting an illegal number plate.
  • On Brielle Way, a third Ford Transit Tipper driver received a traffic offence report and was banned from driving due to two bald tyres and a smashed windscreen.

Kent Police Vow to Keep Up the Pressure

“Rural crime can seriously harm local businesses, residents, and visitors,” said Sergeant Darren Walshaw of Kent Police’s Rural Task Force. “We regularly check vehicles carrying waste because illegal scrap metal hauling is often linked to fly-tipping and other crimes.”

“We work closely with councils and partner agencies to hit these rogue operators hard. Enforcement will continue to tackle illegal disposal of residential and construction waste across Kent.”
