Man Found Guilty of Murdering 21-Year-Old Over Stolen Bike in Battersea
Josh Eno Convicted of Shooting Rico Andrews
Josh Eno, 25, was found guilty of murdering 21-year-old Rico Andrews in Battersea last year. The shocking verdict came after a gruelling three-week trial at the Old Bailey, concluding on Tuesday, 23 September.
Police raced to Shuttleworth Road, SW11, at 9:50pm on 5 October 2023 following reports of gunshots. They discovered Rico with a fatal gunshot wound to his chest. Despite emergency efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Deadly Revenge Over Stolen Motorbike
The Met Police’s Specialist Crime Unit uncovered a chilling motive. Detective Chief Inspector Neil John revealed:
“Rico was murdered over a motorbike which Eno had stolen from a high-value dealership. Believing Rico had taken the bike from him, Eno hunted him down and shot him.”
Fast Arrest and Grim Evidence
- Eno was identified quickly from CCTV footage and witness statements.
- He was arrested on 26 October during a probation meeting, caught carrying a large hunting knife and wearing the same trainers he had worn on the day of the murder.
- In custody, Eno denied knowing Rico and denied involvement despite rampant rumours.
- He was charged with murder the day after his arrest.
Eno is set to be sentenced at the Old Bailey on Monday, 6 October.
Heartbreaking Tribute From Rico’s Mother
“My son Rico was truly an amazing human. He had the best sense of humour, quick wit, and made everything funnier. He was the most laid-back dude who never took anything seriously.”
“People loved being around Rico. You always left happier than before you met him.”
“Rico should still be here. His life was taken at just 21, over a stolen bike worth less than £1,000 to his killer.”
“His murder has devastated not only me and his siblings but the whole community. The support from strangers has helped restore some faith in a dark time.”
