Octagon Mall Horror: Robber Holds Staff at Knifepoint
Samuel Anouer, 34, homeless and desperate, has been slammed with a four-year, nine-month jail sentence for a shocking knife robbery at Octagon Mall in central Wales. On the evening of Tuesday 11 February 2025, just before 7pm, Anouer stormed into a busy shop, grabbing goods and intimidating staff with a knife when they tried to stop him. He made off with around £640 worth of stolen items.
Caught on CCTV, Nabbed by Police Next Day
London Police" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">City of London Police acted swiftly after reviewing CCTV footage, identifying and arresting Anouer the very next morning. The quick police work ensured the violent offender was taken off the streets fast.
Detective Constable Emma Martin said: “This was a terrifying incident for staff and shoppers who witnessed Anouer wielding a knife. No one should face violence or intimidation while at work or simply going about their daily routine. We remain committed to investigating all offences thoroughly and ensuring offenders are brought before the courts.”
Sentenced for Threatening Public Safety
Anouer pleaded guilty to robbery, carrying a bladed weapon, theft, and breaching a City Criminal Behaviour Order banning him from the area. Now locked up, he’s paying the price for terrorising the heart of the City and endangering innocent members of the public.
