Two Nabbed in Basingstoke Drugs Crackdown
Police have arrested and charged a man after a major operation targeting Class A drug dealers in Basingstoke.
Man Charged with Intent to Supply Class A Drugs
Akeem Durowoju, 21, of no fixed address, faces two counts of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs. He is set to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court today (Wednesday 26 April).
Woman Arrested but Released Under Investigation
A 34-year-old woman from Basingstoke was also arrested on suspicion of involvement in supplying cocaine and other Class B drugs. She has since been released but remains under police investigation.
Multi-Area Raids Seize Drugs and Cash
The swoop carried out on Tuesday 25 April involved four warrants in Buckskin, Eastrop, and South Ham. Officers seized suspected Class A drugs, cash, and drug paraphernalia as part of the operation.
Operation Fortress Cracks Down on Dealers
The raids were part of Operation Fortress, Hampshire Constabulary’s campaign to smash drug networks and curb drug-related violence.
“Class A drugs like crack cocaine and heroin do tremendous harm to the people whose lives are blighted by addiction,” said Inspector Ben Taylor. “We are determined to identify drug networks that operate in Basingstoke and will continue to disrupt the activities of dealers.”
