26 People Nabbed in Massive UK Drug Raids
Hampshire police smashed a huge drugs operation this morning, executing 26 warrants in a nationwide crackdown dubbed Operation Fortress. This major swoop aims to crush drugs, stamp out drug-related violence, and protect vulnerable people from criminal gangs.
Crackdown Hits Southampton, Merseyside and London
Of the 26 raids, 15 were in Southampton, seven in Merseyside, and four in London. The Southampton operation alone involved a powerful joint force of 680 officers, including the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU), National Crime Agency (NCA), Metropolitan Police Service (MPS), and Merseyside Police.
18 Arrests So Far in Nationwide Drug Sweep
Authorities have already snapped up 18 suspects linked to the drugs trade. Police say this is just the start of a relentless campaign to make UK cities hostile hunting grounds for drug dealers.
Southampton Police Warn: No Tolerance For Drugs
“Drugs related activity will not be tolerated in Southampton,”
said Superintendent Alison Heydari, Southampton District Commander.
“We work closely with partners to ensure Southampton is a hostile environment for criminals. The community’s help is vital – if we don’t know about it, we can’t act on it. Help us keep your community safe and protect vulnerable people.”
Police urge anyone with information on drug crime to come forward and help bring down dealers for good.
