Chaos on the M27: Wood Caused Mayhem Before Crash
The horror unfolded around 10.30pm on Monday on the westbound carriageway of the M27 between Junctions 9 and 8. Drivers made frantic 999 calls warning of large chunks of wood scattered across the unlit stretch. Many had to swerve sharply to avoid the debris before the fatal collision.
Multi-Vehicle Crash Shut M27 for Eight Hours
At least four vehicles, including a motorcycle and a Hyundai, were involved. Emergency services closed the motorway for nearly eight hours overnight while collision investigators and specialists meticulously examined the scene, taking measurements and scans.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dash Cam Footage
The rider, a man who has yet to be formally identified, died at the scene. Hampshire Police are urging anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage to come forward. Call 101 and quote Operation Kira.
