Silver-Lining Snatchers Target Elderly Lady on Aldershot High Street
Police hunt a trio of ruthless women after a brutal robbery on Aldershot High Street left a woman in her 70s shaken and robbed of her gold chain.
Callous Crime in Broad Daylight
The shocking theft happened between 1.45pm and 2.15pm on Saturday, September 19. The elderly victim, of Nepalese origin, was sitting peacefully on the steps of the Buddhist Community Centre opposite the Citroen garage.
Two women distracted her by asking for the time, while a third sneaked up from behind and snatched the 24-carat gold chain from her neck. The necklace broke during the struggle, and the trio fled the scene.
Police Plea for Witnesses and Jewellers to Come Forward
“This was a really callous robbery of an older lady,” said Detective Constable Sarah Down. “We’re desperate to hear from anyone who saw these three white women or who might have dash cam footage from the High Street, Parsons Car Park, Ordnance Road or Cassino Close around that time.”
“We’re also appealing to local jewellers or pawnbrokers to be on alert for anyone trying to sell a broken 24-carat gold chain.”
