Police Hunt for Missing Chinese Girl Last Seen Near London
Shuyi Xu, a young Chinese national, vanished from a Barnet address on Wednesday, 4 January. The teen arrived alone at Heathrow Airport from China on 23 December and was last spotted wearing a white jumper, black skirt, and white flats.
Concern Grows Over Shuyi’s Whereabouts
After arriving in London, Shuyi stayed at various east London addresses in Shoreditch and Whitechapel. On 29 December, Heathrow staff spotted her and alerted police, who took her into protection amid welfare concerns. She was then handed over to local authorities.
But days later, Shuyi disappeared without a trace. Police desperately want to find her, saying there’s no evidence of serious harm so far, but her welfare remains a big worry.
Police Appeal for Help
Detective Inspector Daniel Branch said: “Shuyi speaks Mandarin and limited English. This was likely her first time in the UK, and she’s unfamiliar with London.”
“We’re piecing together her movements and who she might have been with. I urge Shuyi or anyone who has seen her to get in touch immediately.”
