Teen Stabbed to Death in Broad Daylight in Crawley
Crawley police have launched a murder probe after an 18-year-old was fatally stabbed in broad daylight on Malthouse Road, near Crawley railway station.
Manhunt Underway for Knife-Wielding Suspect
Emergency crews rushed to the scene, but despite paramedics’ efforts and CPR from members of the public, the youngster died from his injuries.
A manhunt is now underway for the attacker, described as a male in his 20s, wearing dark clothes and with brown skin. Two men aged 17 and 18, from Worthing and Horsham respectively, were arrested on suspicion of murder. An 18-year-old woman from Crawley was also arrested for assisting an offender.
Forensics and Police Air Service Swarm the Area
Forensic teams have set up a tent at the scene while the National Police Air Service deployed a helicopter to assist with the search. Sussex Police have assured the public the incident is isolated with no wider threat, but expect increased patrols in the area.
“This is a fast-moving investigation and we are asking anyone with any information about the incident to please come forward,” said Detective Chief Inspector Debbie White. “Our thoughts remain with the victim’s family at this difficult time, and we are determined to find those responsible for this tragic crime and bring them to justice.”
