Horrific Attack Outside West London Mosque

A man was doused in what is believed to be petrol and set alight outside the West London Islamic Centre at around 8pm.

Shocking Five-Minute Encounter Ends in Flames

The suspect struck after a brief chat with the victim as they left the mosque. After about five minutes of conversation, the attacker suddenly poured a flammable liquid over the man and sparked a lighter, setting him on fire before calmly walking away.

Victim Rushed to Hospital with Severe Burns

The victim was taken to hospital, suffering serious burns to his face and arms. His condition is being treated but remains critical.

Police Appeal for Witnesses and Suspect Identification

Detective Sergeant Steven Constable said: “This is an incredibly shocking incident for the community. We are carrying out a full investigation and local officers are conducting reassurance patrols around the mosque daily.”

“The West London Islamic Centre have been very supportive and are assisting with enquiries. Identifying the man in the released image is crucial. If you recognise him or witnessed the attack, please contact police.”
