Pervert Caught in Stables: Jailed for Horse Trespass and Sexual Intent
Police were called just after midnight on May 16 last year when a stable owner caught a man lurking on his property.
Stalker Found Hiding Behind Horse
Alerted by a sensor, the owner discovered Shane Taylor-Waters crouched behind one of his horses. When officers arrested the 42-year-old suspect on suspicion of burglary, he bizarrely claimed: “I’m in an unstable situation. I’ve tried getting medication for it. I’m on licence. I have an unusual habit.”
Sex Offender with Disturbing Intent
Taylor-Waters, who has previous convictions for sexual offences involving animals, was later arrested for animal cruelty. During questioning, he admitted: “I thought about doing it. Then thought better.” He also confessed: “I went there with the intention of doing it. I went in the stable and sat there for five minutes and didn’t do anything. Then the man came out and caught me.”
12 Months Behind Bars
The trespasser, with no fixed address, pleaded guilty to trespass with intent to commit a sexual offence. Burnley Crown Court sentenced him to 12 months in jail earlier this week.
DC Leigh Palfreeman, Burnley CID: “This was an extremely sinister offence. Thankfully Taylor-Waters was interrupted before he could take his worrying behaviour any further.”
