Teen Hurt in Shocking Crash at Zebra Crossing
At around 8.30pm on Wednesday 5 April 2023, chaos erupted at the junction of Manor Avenue and Ruskin Drive. A 13-year-old boy on a bicycle collided with a black Audi A3 while crossing the zebra crossing.
Boy Rushed to Hospital but Later Released
Emergency services zoomed to the scene. The youngster suffered a head injury and was taken to hospital. Thankfully, he was later discharged and is expected to make a full recovery.
Driver Arrested but Now Released Under Investigation
A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence at the scene. He has since been released under investigation as police continue their enquiries.
Police Plea for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
PC Matt Leigh of GMP’s Road Policing Unit said: “A boy attended hospital as a result of this collision and we wish him all the best for a full recovery.”
“If anyone witnessed this collision or has any dashcam footage please get in touch with police as soon as possible.”
