A man in his seventies, celebrating his recovery from illness, planned to treat his kids with a wad of cash. He withdrew several thousand pounds from Barclays in Moortown’s Harrogate Road at around 12.20pm on Friday, April 14.
Snatch in Broad Daylight
After collecting the money, he parked outside and placed the envelopes on the passenger seat while stowing his walking stick. But as he got into the driver’s seat, a thief opened the passenger door, grabbed the cash, and sped off in a car.
Cunning Crook Caught on Camera
- CCTV shows the suspect was lurking inside the branch during the withdrawal.
- Described as white, stocky, with stubble.
- Wearing a grey jumper, black joggers, black trainers, and a grey cap.
- Speaks with an Irish accent.
