Kent Police swooped on a Mercury Close home on Tuesday, 5 September, after discovering a 71-year-old man dead at the scene.
Detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate launched a probe and promptly arrested a suspect later that day.
Murder Charge Fast-Tracked
By Wednesday evening, the Crown Prosecution Service had charged 27-year-old Simon Brown from King George Road, Chatham, with murder.
Suspect Remanded in Custody
Brown was held in custody and ordered to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court the very next day.
