Elderly Man Found Dead with Head Injuries in Co Armagh

Detectives in Northern Ireland have launched a murder probe after a man in his 70s was found with serious head injuries at a home in Crossmaglen, Co Armagh. The grim discovery was made at a property on Annaghmare Road just after 7pm on Saturday, 15 June.

67-Year-Old Held Over Murder Suspicion

Police arrived to find the victim’s body in the bathroom, sparking an immediate investigation. A 67-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody as inquiries continue.

Detective Chief Insp Calls for Public Help

Detective Chief Inspector Anthony Kelly is leading the investigation. He said:

“Our inquiries are underway to establish the circumstances surrounding his death, and officers remain at the scene.”

DCI Kelly also urged:

“I am appealing to anyone who believes they may have information that could assist us with our investigation to contact us on 101, quoting reference 1435 15/06/24.”
