Mother Guilty of Murdering Son in Shocking Case
Claire Button, 36, was found guilty of murdering her five-year-old son Lincoln at Basildon Crown Court on Thursday, 16 October. Despite her denial, the jury delivered a grim verdict. The very next day, Button was sentenced to life in prison, with a minimum term of nine years behind bars.
Tragedy Unfolds in South Ockendon
The horrific incident happened on the afternoon of Sunday, 15 December 2024, at Windstar Drive, South Ockendon. Emergency services rushed to the scene after concerns were raised for Claire and young Lincoln’s welfare. Sadly, paramedics could not save Lincoln, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Claire was hospitalised, then later arrested. She appeared in court in April, leading to this tragic conviction.
