Convicted Cop David Carrick Slapped with New Sex Charges at Old Bailey
Disgraced ex-Metropolitan Police officer David Carrick, already behind bars for life as a serial rapist, has been slammed in court once again. He’s now been found guilty of sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl and raping a former partner, with offences stretching back over three decades.
Fresh Convictions for Decades-Old Abuse
At the Old Bailey, the 50-year-old faced a new wave of justice for horrifying crimes dating from the late 1980s to recent years. The jury heard Carrick molested a young girl in the late ’80s and later raped a woman during a relationship in the 2010s.
After five hours of intense deliberation, jurors unanimously convicted Carrick on nine counts, including:
- Five counts of indecent assault on a girl under 16 between April 1989 and August 1990
- Two counts of rape against a woman during 2014–2016 and again in 2019
- Sexual assault on the same woman in 2019
- Coercive and controlling behaviour toward that woman from 2016 to 2019
Serving a Massive 32-Year Term Already
Originally from Stevenage, Carrick is currently serving at least 32 years for 71 sexual and violent crimes committed over 17 years. He now returns to court for sentencing on these latest abhorrent offences.
Hertfordshire Police praised the victims’ courage in coming forward and urged anyone affected to seek support. The trial revealed Carrick’s abuse of the girl lasted around 18 months before she confided in her mother.
