Two Women Killed in Shocking Bolton Crash
Tragedy struck Bolton this morning as two women were fatally hit by a car just before 8am. The horrific smash happened at a chaotic junction where Scout Road meets Smithills Dean Road, Colliers Row Road, and Coal Pit Road.
19-Year-Old VW Polo Driver Arrested
A 19-year-old man behind the wheel of a VW Polo slammed into the two pedestrians walking along Smithills Dean Road. Both women, aged 57 and 59, died instantly at the scene.
The young driver was arrested on suspicion of causing two deaths by dangerous driving.
Police Launch Urgent Appeal for Witnesses
The Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) is hunting for witnesses to piece together what happened. Anyone near the junction at the time, or with dashcam footage, is urged to come forward immediately.
