Syrian Refugee Jailed for Sex Attack on Glasgow Student
A Syrian refugee has been locked up for sexually assaulting a 21-year-old student in Glasgow city centre. Mohand Mageed preyed on the young woman as she walked home alone after her birthday night out.
Victim Walked Alone After Birthday Party
On February 9, 2025, the student couldn’t get an Uber after her 21st birthday party. Swapping heels for flip-flops and feeling “tipsy,” she confidently walked home. CCTV caught her near Buchanan Galleries just after midnight, where Mageed was lurking.
Predator Spotted Lurking Near Victim
The attacker seized the opportunity to strike, leading to a horrifying assault. Mageed has now been jailed for his vile crime, giving some justice to the traumatised student.
