A man has been sentenced to nine years for raping a child after the victim’s courageous cry for help caught him out.
Stranger’s Sickening Attack
The victim was at a party where stranger, Ammar Moqbal, got her drunk before committing the horrific crime. After the ordeal, the young girl bravely left the party and sought help from a passerby.
Swift Police Action
A quick police response saw Moqbal, 32, of Exter Drive, Sheffield, arrested and charged with raping a child aged between 13 and 15.
Justice Served at Sheffield Crown Court
Despite pleading not guilty, Moqbal was found guilty by a jury in October 2025. On 3 March, he was sentenced to nine years behind bars, bringing some relief to his young victim.
