A serving Met police officer is due in court after being charged with rape.
Met Taskforce Cop Arrested
PC James Brown, part of the Met Taskforce, will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 9 March. He faces one count of rape.
Off-Duty Incident in Southwark
The alleged offence happened on 30 January 2025 while PC Brown was off duty in Southwark.
Suspended and Under Investigation
- PC Brown was arrested on 2 April 2025.
- He was released on bail during investigations.
- He was officially charged on 5 February.
- Following the charge, he was immediately suspended.
- The Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards is involved.
