Huntley Blinded in Savage Metal Bar Attack
Ian Huntley, the notorious Soham child murderer, has died after a vicious attack at HMP Frankland in County Durham. The 52-year-old was found bleeding heavily on 26 February, after being struck with a metal bar during a prison workshop. The blow left him blind and unconscious, from which he never recovered.
“Huntley never recovered from the battering and never stood much of a chance of doing so,” a source told The Sun.
Soham Killer’s Grim Past
- Huntley was jailed for life in 2003 for the 2002 murders of 10-year-olds Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman in Soham, Cambridgeshire.
- The girls disappeared after leaving a family barbecue to buy sweets — their bodies were later found dumped in a ditch.
- He received two life sentences for the horrific crimes.
Family’s Fury and Past Prison Violence
Following Huntley’s death, his only daughter, Samantha Bryan, 27, slammed him, saying, “There’s a special place in hell waiting for him.”
Huntley was also targeted in a brutal 2010 attack at HMP Frankland when another inmate slashed his throat with a makeshift knife. That attacker was jailed for life.
