Three young men have been slapped with attempted murder charges following a vicious brawl between two groups of Afghan men in Cosham on the afternoon of Thursday, 12 March.
Attempted Murder and Weapon Charges
- Arif Ahmadzai, 18, from Albert Road, Southsea, charged with attempted murder.
- Abdullah Mirzad, 18, from New Road, Portsmouth, is also charged with attempted murder.
- Abdul Shinwari, 19, from Alma Road, Southampton, was slapped with attempted murder AND possession of an offensive weapon in public.
All three have been remanded in custody and are set to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates Court on Monday, 16 March.
More Arrests and Bails in Ongoing Probe
- An 18-year-old Southampton man was arrested for attempted murder and possession of a knife, but has been bailed until 13 June pending further inquiries.
- Two Portsmouth men, aged 21 and 29, were nabbed on suspicion of witness intimidation and released on bail until 12 June.
Victim Seriously Injured in Dreadful Leg Stabbing
Police responded after South Central Ambulance Service alerted them at 2:28pm to a victim suffering a puncture wound to his leg on Hawthorn Crescent, Cosham.
The 31-year-old man was rushed to hospital in a serious, potentially life-threatening condition. He remains under treatment, now in a stable condition.
