BMW Driver Causes Fatal Head-On Smash
Mantas Kudrevicius, 32, has been locked up for four and a half years after admitting dangerous driving that claimed a life on the infamous A16 near Cowbit, Spalding.
The horror smash happened just before midnight on Friday, 30 August. Kudrevicius was behind the wheel of his BMW 325D Sport, heading towards Spalding, when he suddenly swerved into the opposite lane.
His car slammed head-on into a Renault Twingo driven by 28-year-old Shinead Francis. The crash shoved the Renault off the road and it burst into flames.
Passersby Pull Victim from Burning Car
Heroic strangers rushed to the scene and pulled Shinead, unconscious, from the blazing wreckage. Despite desperate efforts by emergency teams and first aid at the scene, Shinead tragically died.
Harsh Court Sentence and Long Driving Ban
At Lincoln Crown Court today, Kudrevicius was handed a seven-year, three-month driving ban. He must also pass an extended driving test before he can return to the road. He is from Victoria Street, Quorn.
The tough sentence sends a stark warning about the deadly risks of reckless driving on British roads.
