An EasyJet flight was forced to do a dramatic U-turn and return to Glasgow Airport moments after take-off today, Sunday, March 28.
Flight EZY439 Returns to Glasgow in Extraordinary Move
The flight EZY439 was due to leave Glasgow at 11:50am, heading for Jersey with an expected arrival at 1:25pm. But almost immediately after leaving the runway, the plane made a sudden about-turn and headed straight back.
EasyJet confirmed the early return was due to “extraordinary circumstances” – specifically, a “crew welfare issue” reported on their website.
Passengers Face Delays as Airline Works to Resume Flight
In a statement, EasyJet said: “The disruption to your flight is outside of our control and is considered to be an extraordinary circumstance. We plan to refuel and continue your flight as soon as possible. Your crew will keep you up to date.”
Flight tracking data on Flightradar24 corroborates the quick turnaround, showing the aircraft circling back shortly after leaving the airport.
Passengers will now have to wait for updates as the airline sorts out the issue and prepares to take off again.
