Kent Police have charged a 32-year-old Dover man with murder following the death of a 64-year-old woman in Whitfield.

Attack on Khartoum Square

The drama unfolded on Sunday 29 March 2026 at 3:27pm when police were called to a private home on Khartoum Square in Whitfield. Emergency services arrived to find the woman had already died at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed.

The suspect, Joshua Izu of Khartoum Square, was arrested on-site and remains in custody. He will appear at Margate Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 31 March.

Community Urged to Speak Up

Police have stepped up patrols in Whitfield as investigations continue. The cordon around Khartoum Square was lifted on Tuesday, 31 March, but officers want any witnesses to come forward.

Residents with CCTV or motorists with dashcam footage are particularly urged to check and share any relevant material.
