An Uber Eats delivery driver has been locked up after raping a customer in Boston following a delivery. Jitendrakumar Prajapati, 47, from Castle Square, Wyberton West Road, faced Lincoln Crown Court on 27 March.

Three Years and Eight Months Behind Bars

Prajapati was handed a five-year sentence, reduced to three years and eight months after he pleaded guilty to rape. Alongside this, he received an 18-month concurrent sentence for sexual assault and will be deported after serving his time.

Sinister Turn After Friendly Chat

The court heard Prajapati’s victim, described as vulnerable, had ordered food just after lunchtime on 19 January. After delivering her order, he struck up a conversation, claiming he’d just moved to the area. He asked for help with his visa application and working in the UK. The pair exchanged phone numbers and Instagram details under the guise of staying in touch.

Later that afternoon, Prajapati returned to the victim’s address around 5pm. They chatted initially but the meeting soon took a dark and disturbing turn when Prajapati raped her.
