A 20-year-old man has been charged amid an ongoing rape investigation in Bristol, Avon & Somerset Police confirm.

Suspect to Appear in Court

Nitesh Nitesh, from Byron Street, Redfield, faces one count of rape. He is due to appear at Bristol Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 6 April. The charge relates to an incident in the Assembly Rooms Lane area of Bristol at around 3.05am on Sunday, 29 March.

Investigation Continues with More Arrests

  • Two other people have been released under investigation as police continue inquiries.
  • Detective Inspector Simon Broad of Avon and Somerset CID said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and to date we have made three arrests in connection with this investigation.”
  • He praised the victim for her “strength and courage” throughout the investigation.
  • DI Broad urged the public: “Please do not speculate online as this could impact our ongoing investigation and future judicial proceedings.”
