Knifeless attack with deadly intent
A violent thug has been locked up for over six years after stabbing a man in the back with scissors during a terrifying assault in St Ann’s, Nottingham. Kain Masey, 33, from Eastglade Road, Bestwood, lost it on Halloween night after watching a film and drinking. Furious over a comment about a family member, he launched the savage attack on an innocent victim.
Violent outburst continues during arrest
Nottinghamshire Police revealed Masey bit a female officer’s hand as they tried to arrest him. He then bombarded another officer with a torrent of racial abuse while heavily intoxicated at the hospital. The dangerous criminal was already a known offender with convictions for violence, harassment, and dangerous driving.
Justice served with hefty sentence
On Wednesday at Nottingham Crown Court, Masey pled guilty to wounding with intent, assaulting an emergency worker, and racially aggravated harassment. He was handed more than six years behind bars. Masey will also serve an extended licence of nearly four years and is slapped with a ten-year restraining order.
“Masey is a violent and volatile offender who launched a vicious and unprovoked attack on a wholly innocent man,” said Detective Constable Mitchell Thomas. “Fortunately, the victim was able to defend himself and avoid more serious injuries.” “This significant jail sentence should serve as a warning about the consequences of violence.”
