A fuel tanker loaded with kerosene was completely destroyed after bursting into flames in Newdale, Telford. The intense fire sparked a major emergency response, shutting down the area and causing a dramatic rescue effort.
Nine Fire Crews Battle the Blaze
Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service dispatched nine crews from Albrighton, Craven Arms, Much Wenlock, Shrewsbury, Telford Central, and Wellington to tackle the fire at Overdale. Firefighters battled the blaze using breathing apparatus, hosereel jets, and foam.

One Man Hospitalised Amid Cordon and Precautions
The fire has now been put out, but the tanker was lost to the flames. Emergency services urged locals to steer clear of the area as a safety measure. Residents nearby were advised to keep windows and doors shut to avoid any risks. West Midlands Ambulance Service responded promptly after receiving the alert at 12:12 BST. They sent an ambulance, two paramedic officers, and a community first responder to the scene. One man was assessed and later taken to hospital for further treatment.
