Four teenagers have been handed over 20 years behind bars after deliberately crashing a stolen car into a 19-year-old bike rider in Bristol last year. The victim suffered severe injuries, including a fractured skull and brain bleed.

Deliberate Smash Captured on Phone

Zak Goldsmith, Harrison Dodds, and two 17-year-olds were all in the black Mini Cooper when it was driven straight at the cyclist on May 29. Emergency services rushed to the junction of Mowcroft Road and Hareclive Road at around 5:30pm. After extensive CCTV checks and investigating a mobile phone video from a rear-seat passenger, detectives proved the crash was no accident – it was a chilling attack.

Another Attack Earlier the Same Day

Bristol Crown Court heard the same stolen Mini was involved in an earlier deliberate collision that day, injuring two other teens. Witnesses even saw someone with a bladed weapon exit the vehicle. The defendants stayed silent on why they attacked, but Judge Michael Cullum slammed their actions: “You were hunting as a pack.”

Sentences Delivered: Teen Thugs Locked Up

  • Zak Goldsmith, 19, Knowle – 4 years 9 months plus 2 extra months consecutively; also disqualified from driving due to prior offences.
  • Harrison Dodds, 18, Hengrove – 7 years 4 months plus 4 months consecutively, with driving bans for earlier charges.
  • 17-year-old driver in the second crash – 3 years 6 months imprisonment.
  • Second 17-year-old with a bladed weapon caught on video – 4 years 9 months in custody.

Judge Cullum noted the first crash could have been fatal, while the second left the victim’s mother unable to recognise her son due to the extent of his injuries. All four pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm with intent.
