West Midlands Police have charged a man with murder following a brutal street attack in Birmingham. The victim, 27-year-old Adisu Chala, was found seriously injured on Mott Street just after midnight on Monday 20 April. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Family Pays Heartbreaking Tribute to “Much-Loved” Son

Adisu’s family described him as “the youngest member of our family, deeply loved and cherished by all of us.” They honoured him as a “kind, respectful, and valued person” whose “presence touched the lives of many.”

“He will be remembered for his generosity, warmth, sense of humour, dedication, and for the way he cared for those around him. He was more than the circumstances of his passing. He was a son, a brother, an uncle, a friend, someone who brought light into the lives of others,” “His absence leaves a profound void that cannot be filled. No parent, nor any brother or sister, should ever have to bury a loved one so young. We want justice for what happened.” “No one should ever have to go through such a tragedy, and Adisu did not deserve to lose his life in this way. We sincerely hope that justice will be served. He will always be in our hearts. Rest in peace.”

Suspect Remanded in Court

The homicide investigation swiftly identified a suspect. Momodou Johm, 39, from Bristol, has been charged with Adisu’s murder. He appeared before Birmingham magistrates on 23 April and has been remanded in custody.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

West Midlands Police continue to urge anyone with information about the attack to come forward. Witnesses can contact officers via Live Chat on the police website or call 101, quoting log 103 of 20 April.
