Massive Blaze Rips Through West Hampstead Home – 25 Residents Evacuated
Fire Tears Through Lyncroft Gardens House
In the small hours of Thursday, November 28, a fierce fire erupted in a converted end-of-terrace house on Lyncroft Gardens, West Hampstead. The inferno sparked a huge emergency response, with ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters battling the flames.
Half the Roof Destroyed, Residents Evacuated
The blaze caused severe damage, obliterating half the roof and wrecking part of a third-floor flat. Luckily, all 25 residents were safely evacuated with no injuries reported. West Hampstead Fire Station opened its doors as a rest centre for those affected by the chaos.
Firefighters Fight Fire from the Sky
Station Commander Ken Spratt revealed: “One of our 64-metre turntable ladders was used as a water tower to attack the fire from above. We also deployed drones to get an aerial view, helping us coordinate the firefighting operation.”
Fire crews poured in from West Hampstead, Paddington, North Kensington, Hendon, and nearby districts to contain the blaze.
