Operation Fortitude Strikes at Broad Street Property
At around 4pm, officers from the new proactive unit, Operation Fortitude, executed a warrant on a Broad Street address. Upon entry, they detained two men and launched a thorough search of the premises.
Big Seizure of Class A Drugs, Cash, and Luxury Goods
Police uncovered a substantial stash of class A drugs alongside large amounts of cash. Also seized were thousands of pounds worth of designer clothes, sunglasses, and trainers, believed to be the spoils of crime.
The suspects – a man in his 20s and another in his 50s – were arrested on suspicion of supplying class A drugs. Both were taken to Melksham custody for questioning before being released pending further inquiries.
Det Sgt Geoff Smith said: “This was a positive warrant carried out by officers from Operation Fortitude, which led to the arrest of two individuals and a seizure of a large quantity of suspected class A drugs and cash. Additionally, our officers have taken thousands of pounds worth of designer clothing, sunglasses and trainers, all of which are all believed to be proceeds of crime. We’d continue to urge residents who suspect illegal drug activity in their neighbourhood to report their concerns to police so action can be taken.”
