Police Nab Man After High-Speed Chase on A4
Mercedes Sparks Drama on London Roads
A 31-year-old man was arrested after a dramatic police chase on the eastbound A4 on Wednesday evening. The suspect’s Mercedes triggered an ANPR camera just before 6pm, but he made a run for it, initially evading officers.
High-Speed Pursuit Ends with Tactical Takedown
About 45 minutes later, police spotted the car again and an intense pursuit kicked off. At roughly 6.50pm, officers brought the chase to a safe close using tactical contact on Askew Road, W12.
Serious Charges Filed Against Driver
The driver now faces multiple charges including:
- Possession with intent to supply Class A and B drugs
- Dangerous driving
- Driving under the influence of drugs
- Failing to stop for police
He remains in custody, as the Met’s Operation Venice team continue their crackdown on serious crime.
“Our officers used their skill to carry out a tactical contact, ensuring this pursuit was concluded safely for the public and the driver,” said PC Clem Jones of Op Venice. “We’re committed to catching those involved in serious crime and bringing them to justice.”
