Tragic stabbing shocks Landseer Avenue community
Police rushed to Landseer Avenue, E12, at 9.56am on Saturday, 2 April after reports of a woman with stab wounds. Officers, London Ambulance Service, and London’s Air Ambulance found the critically injured woman, in her 80s, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Man detained as murder investigation launched
A man in his 30s was arrested nearby shortly after and is now in police custody. Early reports suggest the victim and suspect knew each other, but inquiries are ongoing to uncover full details.
Family informed; detectives hunting for witnesses
The victim’s family have been informed. A post-mortem will take place soon. Specialist Crime (Homicide) detectives are leading the investigation and appeal for anyone with information to contact police on 101, quoting reference 2126/02apr.
