Man Stabbed to Death in Leicester Street
Police were called at 12.32am on Monday, 27 December after a man was found injured on Evington Road near Hamilton Street, Leicester.
The victim, a man in his 40s, suffered stab wounds and was rushed to hospital by ambulance. Tragically, he was pronounced dead just after 1am.
Murder Investigation Underway
Following urgent inquiries at the scene, police launched a murder probe. Officers have sealed off the area and are conducting detailed investigations. This includes forensic analysis, CCTV checks, and door-to-door inquiries.
Police Plea for Witnesses and Footage
Detective Inspector Steve Wragg of East Midlands Special Operations Unit said:
“A man has lost his life and we are determined to find out how this happened and who is responsible. We have a dedicated team working around the clock on forensic analysis, CCTV review, and house-to-house visits.
“We need the public’s help. This is a busy area, and people were out late on Boxing Day and early Bank Holiday Monday. If you were near Evington Road and Hamilton Street and saw or heard anything suspicious, please come forward.
“Also, check any CCTV or dashcam footage you might have from the area.”
