Man Faces Serious Charges After Violent Assault

A 66-year-old man, Fitzgerald Carty from Dacre Park, Lewisham, has been charged following a violent knife attack at a petrol station. Carty is accused of possession of a knife and attempted grievous bodily harm with intent.

Attack Caught Near Lee High Road

The shocking incident happened around 3pm on Saturday, 25 January, at a petrol station on Lee High Road. Carty allegedly stabbed a man in his 40s during the attack.

Heroic Police Officer Steps In

PC Morgan Younger, patrolling nearby, quickly intervened to stop the assault and made the arrest on the spot. The suspect was taken into custody the following day and charged on Sunday evening, 26 January.

Victim’s Condition Unknown As Investigation Continues

The victim received treatment at the scene, but their current condition is not yet known. Carty is set to appear at bromley/" title="Bromley" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 27 January. Police investigations into the violent attack remain ongoing.
