Woman Found Dead in East London Alleyway
Police rushed to Whiston Road, E2, at 6:42am on Saturday, 6 April, after a call raised concerns for a woman’s welfare.
They found the woman, believed to be in her 20s, unconscious inside a car in a nearby alley. Officers forced entry and performed CPR while waiting for London Ambulance Service and Air Ambulance paramedics.
Tragic Scene as Woman Pronounced Dead at Scene
Despite heroic efforts, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Police believe they have identified her and have informed her family. Specialist officers are providing support during this difficult time.
Formal identification is pending, and a post-mortem examination will be carried out as soon as possible.
Man Arrested on Suspicion of Murder
A man in his 20s was arrested nearby on suspicion of murder. Detectives say the two knew each other, suggesting the incident was not random.
Det Insp Aytac Necati, Specialist Crime: “This is a human tragedy. We will support the victim’s family fully and conduct a thorough, professional investigation. A crime scene remains in place, and locals will see increased police presence in the coming days. We urge anyone with information to come forward.”
