Driver Dies After Van Crashes Into Barrier Near Weston Cider Plant

A driver has tragically died after crashing his van into a barrier outside the Weston Cider plant in Much Marcle, near Ledbury.

Emergency Services Rush to Scene

The drama unfolded just after 10.30am on Monday. Emergency crews sprang into action, dispatching an ambulance, paramedic officer, the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham with a doctor and critical care paramedic, plus a second BASICS emergency doctor to the grim scene.

Heroic Rescue Attempt Ends in Tragedy

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival, crews found the man trapped in his van.”

Ambulance staff teamed up with firefighters to swiftly free the victim and began advanced life support efforts immediately.

“Sadly, despite best efforts, it was not possible to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”
