Tragic Morden Crash: Pedestrian Killed on Green Lane

Detectives are hunting witnesses after a deadly road smash in Morden earlier this month.

Fatal Collision Shocks Local Community

The horror unfolded on Monday, March 3, at 6:51pm on Green Lane. Police rushed to reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian. Despite urgent attempts by the London Ambulance Service and officers, 49-year-old Sinnathamby Karunakaran was pronounced dead at the scene.

Specialist officers from the Metropolitan Police’s Roads & Transport Unit are supporting the grieving family. Detective Constable Caroline Landy, handling the case, said:

“Our thoughts remain with Sinnathamby’s family at this tragic time.”

DC Landy called on anyone who was on Green Lane between 6:35pm and 6:50pm to step forward – especially commuters or passersby. She urged drivers and residents to check dashcam and doorbell footage that might shed light on the crash.

“We believe witnesses haven’t come forward yet. No matter how small, any information could be crucial. Please contact us immediately.”
